Your quote from Sri Aurobindo talks about the effects of kechari mudra. However, kedchari mudra when practiced with the higher kriyas has effects which are not addressed by the Sri Aurobindo quote. One may have a pile of wood and by itself it is just a pile of wood but when that would is combined with fire something dramatically different happens.

When kechari mudra is combined with the higher kriyas a similar synergy occurs.
