一對老鷹飛過村莊，聽到呱呱的叫聲，老鷹甲對乙說：「這顯然是典型的井底之蛙的叫聲。」那叫聲卻原來是嬰兒的。老鷹的說話偏偏給井底的青蛙聽見，青蛙不忿：「喂，我做了青蛙六年，從未聽過所謂典型井底之蛙的叫聲，希望這不是典型老鷹的心態吧。」

井底蛙當然很難會知道，甚至從未聽說過何謂「典型的井底之蛙的叫聲」之說，但這跟是否真有其說有何關係？
