Subject: 對「新詩通訊站」《文學/社會學》一文的意見

《文學/社會學》一文提及「社會資本」,「社會資本」一詞在經濟學的定義為一個社會組織為共同利益而集體行動的特徵,如規範、網路與信任。換句話說,「社會資本」是透過團體活動所產生的,若論及個人層次因為本身所受的教育程度不同進而從事不同社會地位的職業,造成某種特權階級的必然優勢,應該解釋為個人人力資源(knowledge is treated as human capital)的差異,造成社會階層(social stratification)的不平等關係(social inequality)。「學院派」並非擁有較高的「社會資本」,削弱「非學院派」的競爭機會,而是其享有的社會地位(social status)直接或間接影響到其在文化界的權威性。

文學界裡「學院派」與「非學院派」寫作人頗為涇渭分明,將「學院派」定位為任職大專學界的人士比較客觀,若添上「技藝可以,但風格和主題內容都沒有新意,陳襲過去」的說法就變成貶意的套詞。若說在文學界有卓越成就倍受認同的任職大專學界的人士才跳出了「學院派」的框框,令人覺得有點在「扣帽子」。我並非想批評該文,其實我很認同該文對「用社會學的角度來評論文學」所造成的問題作的見解,作者嘗試去挑戰一般人為「學院派」扣上的帽子,並推崇一些「非學院派」詩人的成就,他贊成不應將「學院派」或「非學院派」的風格一概而論,應從文學的角度平等看待。這是很不流俗的主張,同時也帶出了香港文學創作深受社會觀影響,出現兩極化的分流。
