Subject: Hugo Award Nominations

You can see the nominee list at:
http://www.noreascon.org/hugos/nominees.html

Firefly has two episodes nominated: Heart of Gold and The Message.

We can debate the relative merits of these and other episodes (in fact, I hope we will) but one indisputable thing struck me when reading the list.

Neither episode was broadcast in the show's original run. The day of the DVD has apparently arrived.

I think I'd prefer to see Objects in Space nominated over Heart of Gold. The latter is more classic western than science fiction, IHMO. Maybe the complexities attempted in OIS don't communicate to a very wide audience?
