Believe me, I put the main blame on Fox. Nor am I saying that it's a choice of watering down the shows or losing them. If that truly is the only choice, I say go down with your guns blazing. I'm simply arguing with the timing. Willow went gay at the height of the shows popularity, not in the first season.

So, in that sense, I do blame ME, for choosing, either deliberately, or thoughtlessly, to antagonize some of its audience when it can't afford to lose any of them. You choose your battles when you've got the best hope of winning. If they get renewed, I don't care, Inara can switch to an all-female clientele and they can show blood pouring out of every orifice when the Blue Hand Guys use their tuning- forks-of-death. But not until then.
