...but I think I actually get to see Firefly tonight. David tells me it'll be on after "the game" (baseball?). Anyway:

1. a&b I'd give anything Joss was part of at least an intial look, and I love science fiction.

2. I have every episode of The Next Generation on tape. That was "my" Star Trek, although I faithfully watched the original when I was a kid. Loved Spock, thought Kirk talked funny. Jean-Luc Picard was my idea of the perfect man. Actually, I think Gene Roddenberry was my idea of the perfect man--the franchise just hasn't been the same since his demise.

3. Liked the first three Star Wars films. Liked Han Solo (yikes! I do sometimes watch things for reasons other than the hunky males, y'know). Loved the Ewoks, wanted to live in the trees with them. If I'm feeling down and I've got the time, a day of watching all three original films will always perk me up. So-so on Phantom Menace and haven't yet seen Attack of the Clones.

4. Tried to get into Babylon 5 but that first year commander was really dorky, IMO (OMG, another indication that I'm totally motivated by male pulchritude--maybe I should just stop now?). Didn't bother with it after that, although I understand it got much better. Caught a glimpse of Delenn (?) with hair one time. What was up with that?

5. My sci-fi book tastes tend to run more toward fantasy (Anne McCaffrey's Pern books, eg.) but I absolutely adore Harlan Ellison's work, Robert Heinlein, the guy who wrote the Majipoor Chronicles, Ursula LeGuin, and Sheri S. Tepper.
Films: Alien series, Terminator series, Fifth Element, Dark City, Strange Days.

6. Used to watch Bonanza, The Rifleman (Chuck Connors), Have Gun Will Travel (Richard Boone), The Rebel (Nick Adams), Wanted: Dead or Alive (Steve McQueen)-- (have I dated myself now?); grew up wild about Roy Rogers and Audie Murphy, but not Gene Autry or Alan Ladd. More recently I enjoyed Silverado, Unforgiven, Young Guns. I think the genre may rise again, but it may not be in my lifetime, LOL.

7. Yes.

8. I'm pondering, but it's time to make dinner. I haven't really figured out what he's trying to do with Firefly, but I'd bet money its subversive!
