1. a and b. Joss is God, after all, and I'm not entirely certain that I watch anything on tv that is NOT Sci-Fi/Fantasy or animated. OK, I sometimes watch Friends. But that's more like Fantasy. After all, I get enough "reality" in my real life.

2. Generally a fan of Star Trek, although not a HUGE fan. I did watch all of the Next Generation episodes and liked them more than others. I got tired of Enterprise's habit of finding a way to get the actors in compromising/sexy situations EVERY week. I LOVE the Wrath of Khan movie. I hated that one with the dolphin.

3. I am a HUGE Star Wars fan. I love the grandness of having a whole new universe out there in the imaginations of so many people, and I love the religiosity and mythos of it all. I hate the Ewoks and Jar-Jar. Star Wars movies, more than any other media, have allowed me to believe in a real other world that resembles ours, but in which the primary characters are generally more heroic than people seem to be here. They may not all be as complex as others, but the general complexity of the good vs. bad struggle gives me hope that we can all fight evil in our own ways.

4. My mom got me hooked on Babylon 5 during the extra-fabulous, climactic 4th season, so I had to wait until syndication to catch up. This might be the only show that rivals Buffy in my obsessive tv watching. Although I was obsessed with Scarecrow and Mrs. King when I was a teenager (maybe I *actually* just have a thing for Bruce Boxleitner..I do also love TRON....mmmm).

5. See above. See also anything written by Ray Bradbury.

6. Not much for Westerns generally, but I've been thinking I should revisit them. I do love The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, and The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, but I'm not sure I classify those as typical genre Westerns. I’m not sure I’ve seen enough typical Westerns to judge.

7. This is why I watch Firefly!! I expect Joss to give us a complex story that deals with larger issues than daily life. If I wanted a typical action/adventure, I would watch Enterprise.

8. Meatiest parts: Why does Mal let Jayne stay on that ship? I would expect him to turn on me any second. Who are the blue hands guys? Why would Inara be on that ship? But mostly….River. Her story is clearly the main focus, and I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that she and the Reavers have a connection.
