Subject: ~Forgive me pretty baby but I always take the long way home~

She was back. Home..what a strange and wonderful word. Just the sound of it could send shivers down your spine. She arrived as she always did- quietly and unassuming, like she had never left. Her bay coat gleamed as bleak rays of early spring sun burst through the blanket of clouds that stretched across the sky. As she moved onward, she picked up her pace. She was glad to be home. She had missed much, she was sure. She could feel it in the air. But she was content to be quiet now. She was almost 6. That really wasn't so old- not old at all. But she felt old. Tired. She would be happy not fighting any wars for a few months at least. Besides, she had her little protege to look after. A smirk creeped across her maw as she slowed her pace to a leisurely walk. Slowly she glanced behind her. Ah well, the lass could take her time. She gazed back up, at her home. It looked different. It was no longer thrusted deep into winter, for winter was fading fast. Signs of spring were not too obvious, but still present. "It's good to be home." The bay maiden murmured aloud, peering around the land with pools of darkness.
