He knew that having a foal territory when there were hardly any foals around was excessive and inactivity would soon swamp over. He thought back to the state of the Alps the last time he had been there and understood exactly what she meant. To be near the Dark Evergreens would mean further protection, and he may be one of the elder foals but he was useless if a threat came about.

Nodding slowly, he replied, "True, it is almost my time to leave the Foal Territory, it seems I've stayed there for too long as it is. Fortunately the foal-killers have disappeared and the protection given would be very welcome. I'd hardly vouch myself for candidate to be leader in the Foal Territory, although would be honoured to do so. I like your plan."

Almost three. Perhaps already three, he really had no idea although he was more than aware of the fact that at times his bouts of immaturity accentuated his young age. No, not yet three. Not until he learned to grow up.
