1. Roosevelt – won in all 13 presidential primaries
2. Taft – remained popular with most party leaders
3. Taft was nominated
B. The Progressive Party
1. Roosevelt brought supporters back to Chicago for another convention in order to launch Progressive Party
a. he nominated himself as presidential nominee
b. he then realized it was hopeless
