I don't know why, but I didn't expcet that. What is the attendance rate for churches in Britain? I know in Sweden its less than 10% which is hard to beat. Does anyone know? Date Posted: 18:33:29 12/24/04 Fri It depends how you look at it. The ethnic-minority population of Sweden is about nil. In Britain, is about 15%, and most of those are dedicated visitors to their Church/Temple/Mosque/etc. If we factor this out and just count the indigenes (and also discount those who go only at Christmas, Easter and to the occasional wedding), then I suspect it's less than 10%. As for Churches being turned into pubs, I hear that even some of the old Victorian temperance Churches have been turned into theme-bars! I'm not Christian and I like a drink, but this is just apalling. Mind you, I was most upset when one ofmy favourite clubs in London (in a converted Catholic church on Cambridge Circus with mosaics of Jesus & Co on the walls) was turned into a Walkabout Fosters-and-rugger pub...
