] Date Posted: 17:39:52 01/07/05 Fri Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams has backed down and is allowing the return of the maple leaf flag on government buildings in Newfoundland and Labrador. This is because he is bowing to pressure that the gesture is being seen as anti-Canadian rather than just anti-federal government. However, the flag of Newfoundland protest, first flown in 1843 and not an official flag, is selling extremely well. It is an Irish tricolour with pink instead of orange - it is green, white and pink. Newfoundland's official flag is a stylised Union Jack of red, white, blue and gold. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
