I was suggesting that our quiet little lives will have a better chance of staying quiet if we remove sources of violence and injustice, because whoever is affected directly, we are all affected in the long run. Ultimately, promoting development all around the world is the best way of achieving peace and stability at home, and development can only take root where there is liberty and justice.
