First of all there's a million and one "passes"; coins cards billiard balls. But if it's the pass that i'm thinking (with cards) to control a card then : Have a card selected and cut the deck. Have the cad replaced on the lower half and hold a break(better yet jog the card out the back of the deck a millimeter) now misdirect a bit ie. tell everyone to look behind them at the pink elephant or however you do it then when you've got thast sweet little moment to yourself: hold cards above the break with one hand andgrip lower half between middle tow fingers levering it outward drop top half and put lower half on top, selected card should be top card. it's all very subtle of cours and shoud be done with a little tourn of the body. The hand holding the top half of the deck should pretty much hide the other part of the deck from the spectators until the end of the movement.hope that's the pass you're talking about.
