I know whatcha mean! I had 10 days off in a row, it was great! Today, I had to go back to work and it was so hard to get back in the groove. I really could get used to not going to work, also. lol

Our Christmas was small, quiet, and real nice. Visited with some family. Had lotsa goodies to eat (too many! lol). Back to the diet!

New Year's was pretty quiet, too. The kids were staying over at their aunt's, so we had the house to ourselves. We had blueberry wine that I'd received from my boss for Christmas, with cheese, bolognas, and crackers for dinner. Oh, had beer appetizers, lol. Watched a couple movies while having dinner. Then we put the ball drop on TV just in the nick of time! The clock read 11:59 and the countdown was on! About a minute later, we heard fireworks being set off in our neighborhood. About quarter after, we were in bed and fast asleep! lol

New Year's Day most of the family gathered at Nana's for dinner, and that was fun. So, all in all, it was a pretty good vacation, despite having a cold over Christmas and twisting my knee by falling in the mud pit at the gate to the horse pasture. I was trying to prevent the horses from getting loose as the wind blew the gate wide open while I was trying to push the wheelbarrow through. As I reached for the gate, my foot slipped in the mud and into a split I went! I was losing my balance fast, and I called Bob for help. (He was in the next field doing the water tub.) As he was on his way to assist me, I fell forward cuz my knee "popped" (like when you crack your knuckles) and gave way, so now I was on my hands and knees in the mud, instead of just doing a sort of split. Between trying not to fall on my face, and kneeling, I waved wildly at the horses who wanted to go through the gate and back to the barn where it was out of the wind and rain, and where the hay and feed is. (Who'd blame them?) But, alas, they weren't brave enough to pass by this strange creature half lying in the mud yelling and waving frantically at them. Luckily, Bob was able to come to the rescue and close the gate, which I then used to haul myself up out of the mud (along with Bob's help again). (sigh) Shoulda had someone standing by with the video camera for that one! When I told my boss, she about fell on the floor laughing! Sheeeesh! Some people! :D (I guess it was kinda funny, especially since I was covered head to foot with mud, plus it was drizzling and windy, what a day!) My knee still hurts a bit, and Dr. sis told me that it could take 6-8 wks to heal. Lovely. Oh well. :D
