>>> When will you people stop pushing your religion on others? <<<
..... According to Acts 2 and Acts 4 the FIRST version of Christianity required all members of the "Kingdom of God" to live a communal lifestyle, sharing all of their possessions. Membership was confined to ONLY specially selected, GOOD people, and it was, in theory, a MUCH better kind of community than "the world" out there, with its dog-eat-dog highly competitive practices that made the rich richer and the poor poorer.
..... In those days the many now (much?) happier people could be expected to praise the advantages of being a member to outsiders, and, if these were, or seemed to be, fully qualified for membership, entice them to submit an application for membership.
..... After Jesus had been killed by the Romans many changes were made, many new versions of Christianity were invented and the emphasis was on obtaining many more members as soon as possible, never mind their quality. Various writings, including ancient mythology, and bits and pieces of other religions, such as Mithraism, were produced as sales literature, but the new members remained firmly in "the world" and there was little, or even no, incentive to change their personality to be "better" people. In 2005 there seems to be no evidence of a particular version of Christianity making their members much happier than are the members of another belief system..
