Dear Boo,

It seems we all make "journeys." In fact, my astrology friends say we make them every 30 years (Saturn return), give or take five years. It is built into the human condition.

So education, money, etc. is all part of that journey. If you have it, you can lose it. When you stop to think about it, everything we have can be lost in a blink of an eye. But, we always need to remember we pick our lives for the opportunities they will provide us for spiritual growth. We don't have to learn the hard way, but we generally do.

As for being brave, it is more a case that one has to get up in the morning and live. And, if you have some experience with God, then you know that you are not alone. If bad times are happening now, well, good times can follow.

I have a friend/author who is writing a book on why older people do better under stress and live. Part of the reason is that they have been through stress before, and have learned that tomorrow comes. You just have to keep hanging on.

Remember, the real reason we are here to to learn and practice receiving and giving love. First, being kind to ourselves, and next being kind to the person on our right and on our left. It is all about service to others.

You can be just as happy in South Africa as you can be in England. That doesn't mean you should not go to London, only that going to London will not solve any problems. In other words, don't go to London to get away from anything, or you might find out it traveled along with you.

By the way, with the Internet and the shrinking world, most of what you might need can come to you in South Africa.

Also remember, you and your husband were meant to be together at this time. The lessons you learn about love now can pay rich dividends down the road if you are open to learning. The rules we all were taught about life are not necessarily God's rules, so watch for contradictions.

Boo, you, too, are good with words. Use them here, and on other forums, to give people hope. Let others know how valuable they are to our mutual growth and development.

Here in the US, we have a President who does represent the majority attitude of Americans. We got involved in Iraq due to that attitude. Now, slowly but surely, we are learning that our attitude might have been wrong. This country seems to need to learn that there are ways other than our own ways, and might (arms) does not solve problems. But that is our journey as a nation. South Africa has its own journey.

So when our nation makes a mistake, or we make a mistake, it is better that we not be hard on ourselves, but simply chose differently. You have the same opportunity. You can always chose differently after seeing what your actions have brought you.

So be of great cheer. Your journey has just started. Since I'm 60, mine is nearing the final lap. But we are all here to support each other. So, give words of encouragement to those nearest and dearest to you. We are all one world.

Love,

Gary
