Subject: Bands wanted

No Code Music requires professionally minded bands for a new night of live music in Hull. We will be running and promoting a weekly night featuring two bands of varying genres playing through a powerful PA system and under a professional lighting rig. Dates available mid to late December and throughout the New Year when the night will take a regular Friday night spot. Two band packages are welcome if you think they'll work.
We operate a contracted W.Y.S.I.W.Y.G. payment scheme in that- what you sell is what you get. Bands will be provided with a book of secure tickets which they are expected to sell to their current fanbase and other interested individuals (mum, dad, dog, bloke at the pizza shop etc.) at £3. All monies and unsold tickets are returned to No Code on the night and at the end of the gig half of this money is returned to you as payment. You sell ten tickets you make £15, which is not too good but if you sell forty tickets you get £60 which isn't half bad and you can sell tickets up to the capacity of the room.
We want bands who are making waves on the scene and making efforts to establish a fanbase, we are not trying to exclude new bands, at the end of the day, glossy fliers, posters, tickets, PA, lighting rigs, crew, newspaper adverts and websites do not come for free and we need to at least break even. We're sure you don't want to play to an empty room and we can't afford to provide the above for nothing. Too many bands make no effort to promote themselves and nobody comes to their gigs, we want to fight this apathetic culture and help bands that really want to be professional musicians.
