The beginning of the season is a tough time for a lot of teams, with departures of old players and the signing of new ones the team that you play at the beginning the season may be far different to the one that might have evolved later in the season. I am a Loughborough student as well as an Everton player. I saw all the effort the girls put into being promoted last season and how much it meant to them to have acheive promotion. Loughborough students are a good team and deserve to be playing in this league. A lot of teams have difficulties at the beginning of the seaon. For example at the begining of the season at Everton we were playing without Kelly Mac and Mo Marley due to both being away on international duty with the England U19's but we were unable to cancel our games. Even though we put up good performances in the games they were missing you could also say that the teams we played had an advantage. We also were with out myself for the 1st game due to being released from Leeds and also without Jade Thomas for about the first four games. All i am trying to make clear is that alot of teams take time to gel and establish the back bone of their team. Unfortuantrly for Loughborough this takes a bit longer due to freshers not arriving til late september. Surely though this is more of a disadvantage to Loughborough then it should be the other teams. I strongly believe Loughborough deserve to be in this league, they have good players and have worked to get there.
