Subject: Radio station power increase & format changes

CKDX-FM, known as Foxy 88.5 FM has implemented a major power increase of its broadcast signal to significantly expand its strength, clarity and coverage area. “The station should now be easily accessible from Kitchener to Whitby and from the 401 north to Bracebridge,” said Foxy General Manager, Don Currie. “The tower site is centrally located in Snowball, Ontario, which makes it higher above sea level than the CN tower.”

Recently purchased by the Evanov Radio Group, 88.5 FM changed its format to Dancin’ Oldies (70s, 80s, disco and R&B) – the only station in the Toronto CMA to program this format, which has proved extremely popular throughout North America. During evening hours, Foxy plays the latest dance music, which has made its sister station, Z103.5 FM, one of the most popular stations in the Toronto CMA.

“We aim to be your major source of entertainment in the York Region, with lots of regional news, traffic and weather updates,” said Foxy morning show host/Operations Manager, Gary Gamble. “And “Unforgettable Sundays” will be starting soon, so even our core listeners have plenty of new and exciting programming to look forward to.”

Foxy 88.5 FM will soon be launching a major promotional campaign to introduce itself to new listeners and reinforce its status as the “Community Radio Station” for the York Region and Central Ontario.
