FYI Terry Nichols did not get any special food that I know of.

The portions served at the jail are adequate. The food is decent, I eat it often. He should not be starving if he is eating the meals that are served to him. If he skips those meals and eats only commisary items, I could see that being expensive.

Commisary items are also used instead of money for a lot of other purposes such as gambling with and trading for a number of things. He may simply be using his commisary for these purposes. It's hard to tell.
