on 2/28/03 my son was badly beaten by police after exiting a vehicle as instructed, hands in air, then told to get on knees, arms were behind his back and officer was in process of cuffing him when he was suddenly rushed by many others, slamming his face into the ground, then 4-5 of them or more began kicking and hitting him. at this point he pulled his hands away to protect his head and face. he was screaming why are you beating me, stop hitting me. they yelled for him to give us your hands and he did, they then pulled him up to his knees.he kept his head ducked and they kept hitting him.they had his hands,so ducking was his only protection. an officer then reached from behind him, while they had his hands,and pulled his head up from the ducked position so they could hit him in the face,at this time, they punched him many more times in his eye and face.he now has scars on his face and the bone on his check next to his eye protrudes making his face look lopsided. his eye is healing.he is having chest pains, which he thinks is a cracked rib. they wont check him. this all happened because he squealed his tires pulling out of a 7-11, then cop hit him with lights and he paniced and punched it. he did not deserve a beating and was complying with their instructions. he was not alone in the car. the other person was jailed and they dropped charges on them. this other person told me that there was lots and lots of officers, and some OHP, and some in suits. she said that many of them formed a line in front of the cruiser like as to make a wall to hide what they did to me son. she said they didnt have any reason to beat my son. he wasn't resisting arrest. i do not have any money and do not know what to do. i know what they did is really wrong. can anyone help me, please?
