You finally said something correct. Freedom does, indeed, not come cheap. And I commend your brother for his honorable service for our nation's military.

I'm sure you know, as well, that there was an overwhelming number of Americans who opposed that war, as well. It doesn't diminish the service of those who answer the call to put their lives on the line. It's our rights as Americans to be able to put our politicians on trial for what we percieve to be wrongdoing.

Oh, and here's an archived link I found that recalled Bush's state of the union address in January of 2003, to refresh your memory, since you seem to have forgotten when he called Iraq an imminent threat.

www.ph.ucla.edu/epi/bioter/iraqimminent.html

Of particular interest from the White House website text of that state of the union...
"The world has waited 12 years for Iraq to disarm. America will not accept a serious and mounting threat to OUR COUNTRY, and our friends and our allies. The United States will ask the U.N. Security Council to convene on February the 5th to consider the facts of Iraq's ongoing defiance of the world. Secretary of State Powell will present information and intelligence about Iraqi's legal -- Iraq's illegal weapons programs, its attempt to hide those weapons from inspectors, and its links to terrorist groups.

We will consult. But let there be no misunderstanding: If Saddam Hussein does not fully disarm, for the safety of OUR PEOPLE and for the peace of the world, we will lead a coalition to disarm him."

In October of 2002, in Cincinnati, Bush said...

"We also must never forget the most vivid events of recent history. On September 11, 2001, America felt its vulnerability -- EVEN TO THREATS THAT GATHER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE EARTH. We resolved then, and we are resolved today, to confront every threat, from any source, that could bring sudden terror and suffering to America.

Members of the Congress of both political parties, and members of the United Nations Security Council, agree that Saddam Hussein is a threat to peace and must disarm. We agree that the Iraqi dictator MUST NOT BE PERMITTED TO THREATEN AMERICA and the world with horrible poisons, and diseases, and gases, and atomic weapons."

HE CONTINUES...."Some ask how urgent this danger is to America and the world. The danger is already significant, and it only grows worse with time. If we know Saddam Hussein has dangerous weapons today -- and we do -- does it make any sense for the world to wait to confront him as he grows even stronger and develops even more dangerous weapons?"

HE CONTINUES...."We've also discovered through intelligence that Iraq has a growing fleet of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles that could be used to disperse chemical and biological weapons across broad areas. We are concerned that Iraq is exploring ways of using UAVs for missions targeting the United States."

HE CONTINUES...."If the Iraqi regime is able to produce, buy, or steal an amount of highly-enriched uranium a little larger than a single softball, it could have a nuclear weapon in less than a year. And if we allow that to happen, a terrible line would be crossed. Saddam Hussein would be in a position to blackmail anyone who opposes his aggression. He would be in a position to dominate the Middle East. He would be in a position to threaten AMERICA. And Saddam Hussein would be in a position to pass nuclear technology to terrorists."
