I think we are forgetting that Baraka is an Artist. And Artist see the world differently as other people. I believe that he has the right to voice his opinion via poem. Poems are meet to make you think about what is going on around you and I don't think that he comments were out of order. There are many places where whites, blacks, and latinos are all being place in certain catergories which they don't belong and that is not only in poems but in society. THerefore the fact that Baraka's Poem contemplated society to think beyond our veil of reason is no right to strip him of his ability to have "free speak" we don't have to agree on his position. But if we strip him of his right, than that would mean that a "unappealing painting" could us be taken down from our galleries....because it is not understood.
