The devs know that the AR value for crafted armor are lacking in relation to monster drops.

What we can do is make a post with the following information:

Race
Level
current armor and AR value.

It may still be hard to remember who needs what. I know that I will never remember.

I gave Bosstone some Lugian hand me down last night.

So, the upper levels need to need to start doing hand me downs or keep an eye out for low level high AR value armor to distribute.
