Subject: Balance

I got Dan's message about "balance." Interesting timing Dan. As you all noted, I was unable to make either the BBQ, the Sunday ride, or the Monday gathering.
Sat & Sun was due to a treat from my wife, an out-of-town excusrion to celebrate my last day of duty at work on the base. Monday was due to a concert in which my son played. Family matters do come up from time to time.
As Dan mentioned, he's put in QUITE a few hours to the Chapter cause - AND I FOR ONE APPRECIATE ALL HIS EFFORTS. What Dan failed to mention in his 'balance' equation was his business (e.g. work.) That too, takes up 1/3 or more of his life. For many of us, work consumes 1/3 to 1/2 of our lifes. Sleeping takes up another 1/4 to 1/3 and that leaves little for family, friends, and last (but not least) hobbies.
Could it be that we (the chapter) have stretched ourselves too thin? With the onset of fall, and the associated "family" holidays, time becomes even more limited.
Was any of this addressed Monday evening? It would be nice if someone whom attended could share an update...
I've also noted a drop in use of the forum. Is this a parallell to the aforementioned issues? Is there a functional problem? (Just curious.)
