The scorching wind is ahowling
Tartarus opens, bursts, burning
In this sacred grove shades sighing
Orphean hymns, willows singing
The cypresses dry and thirsting
The narcissus drooping, wilting
For twelve nights we offered, pleading
Giving souls song sacrificing
For solace, for rain, soil begging
For release from desert's screaming
Our bodies are raped and bleeding
Our throats chewn by dogs of wanting
Our nights wasted passions clinging
To hope for one more touch caressing
But the moon won't shine releasing
Light on belladonna stinging
Our love nettled flesh lamenting
Our spirits forever sinking
Beneath torrents of Lethe shrieking
My name on hallowed lips vanishing
How many days will pass aching
Parched, lonely, mourning, submitting
Before we drink from cup refreshing
Our essence relieved and resting?
