Do you need a permit to keep the long billed corella? I found a young one injured in an area rich in feral cats, so took it to my fathers home the next day. It's a lovely little bird, very friendly, real character but dad's worried about permits etc. He thought it was a little corella but the beak is very overshot.

Also, with that long upper beak, how do we look after that? I saw in the petshop last night some 'sanded sheets' for the bottomes of bird cages. Would that help the bird wear its beak down a bit? Is that what those sheets are for?
