The Alhamra Art Gallery and the Lahore Arts Council holding a new exhibition of paintings In, at and around by Karachi based artist Soraya Sikander on Monday 20 January, 2014. Soraya Sikander studied at the Beaconhouse National University Lahore, The Print Club London and Slade School of Fine Art, University College London where she developed her most recognised sculpture the 'Bride' made out of recycled material.
Soraya Sikander paints landscapes that are interpretative of her immediate environment: most of her work is tonal with dramatic lighting. A notably proportion of Soraya's work consists of oil on canvas paintings, watercolors on paper, and charcoal or ink drawings created on locations. Soraya Sikander has held over nine exhibitions in Karachi, Dhaka, Singapore, The Pakistan High Commission in UK, London.
The exhibition shall be on display till 25 January 2014, from 9 AM to 6 PM daily. .
