Reasoning went something like this:
- want to support ex-students who put lots back into clubs
- some of them come to IVDA all day to support and do intermediate as scratch partnerships
- wouldn't be able/willing to do advanced 5 dance in same fun-and-join-in spirit
- HOWEVER, people don't seem to like ex-students doing intermediate
- SO make it a 2 dance ex-student comp - all ex-students should be able to lead WQ or CJ
- anyone who would have been aiming to do intermediate isn't going to make the final and if they do because they're that good then they'll be able to cope!
- the 'serious' partnerships that do make the final will have had 5 dance ready anyway
- this caters for ex-students who come to support whilst allowing us to showcase serious partnerships who want to come along at the end
