That was precisely my point - change the paradigm and those stuck to the previous one reject it, yet those on the other side of the paradigm shift understand better.

Evolution, quantum theory, relativity - all were rejected by those stuck in the old paradigm. After the hard work of those who had already realised its importance did the new paradigm become accepted, and now it is unthinkable that anyone question its fundamentals.

Victorian scientists tried, and failed, to resolve Darwinian evolution with every-creature-ever-still-exists-and-has-never-changed. To us, the latter seems ridiculous (we are on the far side of the paradigm shift), but before the shift, the former was ridiculous and immediately rejected by anyone too narrow-minded to embrace the new ideals. Once people (not just scientists) got used to idea, it became normal - and the paradigm shifted from hardcore creationism to evolution.

It is clearly the case that, last time it was tried (and there is only the thinnest of anecdotal evidence covering the 'details', or lack thereof) 'team marking' was adopted without a paradigm shift, and was hence rejected - because no-one even considered the possibility of a paradigm shift, therefore everyone stayed firmly on the wrong side of it. In these circumstances, it is perfectly reasonable that it was rejected, in the same way that a creationist would reject evolution because it disagrees with how they think.

Team marking, as I have always maintained, is a shift in paradigm, and, like evolution etc., will take a while to become the normal way of thinking.

On a different note, at the GCM not one single person spoke in favour of individual marking.

It will also not surprise me in the least when someone responds to this post by telling me that every creature that ever existed is still alive, and has never changed. Such people are just narrow-minded and are unable to embrace new ideas.
