It stops hit-men, assassins, thugs and other mercenary figures from finding the right targets.

It keeps an 'element of surprise' for the team match (which is totally spoilt in the warm-ups before the opens have even started). Personally, I think turning into ice-skating mongooses and dancing the bolero would be more surprising to the opposition, but it never seems to happen.

It makes post-GCM 'so who've you got this year' conversations more fun if noone tells the truth.

I don't know about you, but I think it's totally justified :-)
