Quite. And this seems to be the case with most of these posts. Hence the difference between the seeming difference between discussion forum opinion and the GCM. The GCM reflects the representative views of those societies that are members of IVDA. The people speaking here are (a) not great in number (those speaking against the amendment are not numerous, especially when all anonymous posts (which could all have come from the same person, who may also have spoken in their own name) are ignored;(b) not representative. Lise is the Cambridge Offbeat captain, and so clearly doesn't speak for Cambridge (who strongly supported this proposal). Many of the others I also have doubts about. If all the opinions come from offbeat only people, they won't be representative, whereas the GCM, by its nature, is.

Therefore, at the moment I think that I am perfectly justified in believing that the majority of members of IVDA support the amendment. No doubt if that is not the case, then it will be demonstrated at the next meeting.

Karen's right - the point about money is utterly ridiculous. And Paul I think must be the only person who prefers watching the offbeat to the demo.
