The fate of the Senators is well beyond anything I can do. I cannot afford seasons tickets nor hardly afford the price of a coke and popcorn at a game. The game is now for high salaried employees and companies. Do I feel bad that the Senators may move on? Yes... Do I feel that I can do more to keep them in Ottawa...No.
Are small market teams in the decline? Yes for now. The smallest teams in the future will be located in places like Detroit. In time only a super league will exist with teams in Europe and major American cities. Toronto and perhaps Montreal will be included in this. The American League and East Coast Leagues will expand filling the void.
Am I sorry that hockey is pricing itself out of reach? Yes. Will I miss NHL calibre hockey? No. I will be just as pleased watching the American League. I would really like to see senior hockey return. Small town against small town just like the old days and at a good price.
Today's hockey is too legal and regal.
