Subject: Two Weeks Later

Things had continued on as they had started, her being politely civil to him, but never overly warm. They slept in seperate beds, and were hardly near each other when Kesi wasn't around. There were times when the hurt came up, and she would lash out, but most of the time, she was just quietly civil. This morning before he had left, had been one of her bad times, but he was getting more tired as each day rolled round, and it was taking it's toll on her. It was almost two o'clock, and Kesi was at Kaylee's playing with Kali, and it was a good thing. Her eyes moved to the clock, it had been almost two hours since the last sharp pain, and she'd just had another one five minutes ago. With a sharp cry she dropped to the couch, her hand on her stomache, tears in her eyes. Grabbing the cordless phone, she dialed the number of the one person who could make her feel better, who could ease her fears - Kato.

He reassured her as best he could before saying a quick goodbye and going to talk to his superviser quick - the panic in his voice and the explanation that his girlfriend was 8 and something months pregnant convinced his boss to let him go early, and so he rushed to his car and hurried hogme.. She had slipped in a quick "I love you" before he hung up, just wanting him to be careful on his way home. She was pacing the living room, occasionally grabbing the couch to steady herself as a pain hit, biting her lower lip so hard it was bleeding. (NT) -- Cassie, 10:31:04 08/17/03 Sun
The words weighing heavily on his mind - he hadn't heard them from her in a few weeks, and he'd wanted to so bad - he drove carefully but quickly and then just let himself into the apartment, not taking off his jacket or anything. "Cass? Where are you?" (NT) -- Kato, 10:32:51 08/17/03 Sun
