Subject: I choke back each tears that bleeds...

It wasn't supposed to be like this... He had spent the last week or so severing ties and finally thought he was at a place where he could start to lead a normal life - something he had never had. This evening though he had worked the graveyard shift and was on his way home when he had been approached by some familiar faces and the events that had followed were virtually exactly what he had been hoping to put behind him. He let himself into the apartment quietly, hoping Cass was asleep, and headed into the bathroom - closing the door partway and sitting down on the edge of the tub. Trying to calm his ragged breathing - his lip and brow were busted, one eye swollen, and ribs were bruised - if not cracked....

It was brutal having to just stand there and not being able to comfort her. After she left, he managed to clean up the knicks and cuts on his face and then headed into the bedroom to join her.
