Do you know what it's like to grow up with parents who don't want you? I don't know this from my own personal experience, but I have friends. One of my best friends was born to a mother who had been on drugs since she was 8 years old. She didn't know who her father was, and her mother's boyfriends were very abusive. When she was 8 years old she would threaten to commit suicide if they came near her. She had to practically raise her little brothers because her mom was always in and out of prison. Recently, she has been kicked out of her house several times, and run away twice when her mom beat her up and threw her down the stairs. More recently her mom and step dad have been calling the police on her and saying that she abuses her little brothers, which is totally untrue. She got put on probation, and her parents continue to try to get her in trouble. If she comes home 5 minutes after curfew they'll call the cops on her, she even got sent to juvenile hall for 5 days for curfew violations. It's not like she's a bad person, and she's trying to have a normal life, but it's impossible because her mom is totally insane.
This is just one example of the damage done to individuals and society by unfit parents.

And another thing- of all those criminals that were executed, how many of them had parents that wanted them and raised them right? People are a result of the circumstances in which they were raised.
