Universal Island in conjunction with Polydor are delighted to announce the release of a TOTAL career retrospective for the legendary Paul Weller entitled 'Hit Parade'.

The release of this career retrospective will coincide with the broadcast of a BBC commissioned full length documentary covering the entire length of Paul's career to date, including newly shot, indepth interview footage, extremely rare performance and personal materials alongside interviews with key players from the last thirty years.

The one CD version will be presented in a standard jewel case complete with 24 page booklet and feature 23 of the biggest highlights from Weller's incredible career, for the first time ever combining Jam, Style Council and solo material.

Additionally, there will be a 4 CD version boxset available which is the definitive Paul Weller singles collection. 67 tracks in total, a dedicated Jam CD, a dedicated Style Council CD and two separate solo discs. This features a 60 page booklet complete with a full career overview from the infamous 70's NME scribesman Adrian Thrills.

The BBC documentary to be broadcast this autumn will act as a key element of this campaign. Mr Weller is infamously shy of the interview situation and so his involvement in the making of this documentary is entirely unique and will make for a magical trip through 30 years of not only British pop culture but wider culture in general.

(There are also discussions in place with Channel 4 with regards a "Paul Weller performing live with friends", style programme for autumn 2006)

[> Its a shame this collection doesn't include the track that includes and probably inspired the title or would that have been too obvious? One of my favourites and here's hoping we get it at Brighton again. Funky Fish Bar anyone? -- The Weaver, 18:24:27 08/14/06 Mon
