Subject: Brawler to get his own action figure!

Brooklyn Brawler is to finally get his own Jakks Classic Superstars action figure. It is to be released in December 06. I know what I want from Santa!

From WWE.com:

Christmas comes early for former WWE Superstar

It may be a bit early to start thinking about what Santa Claus will leave under the tree in the 2006 holiday season, but come December, WWE action figure collectors will ask for a special new figure from the Classics Series in their stocking.

Jakks Pacific, the exclusive provider of WWE action figures, has announced that they will be making a new Brooklyn Brawler figure, which they expect to be released sometime in December of this year. WWE.com tracked down an excited Brawler to find out what it’s like to get your own action figure.

The WWE legend explained to us how the decision to make the figure came about. “I got a call from Jakks Pacific, and they told me they kept getting letters, e-mails and phone calls requesting a Brooklyn Brawler action figure. I couldn’t believe it, I was so excited.” Eventually, Jakks and the Brawler came to an agreement and the groundwork was laid to create the figure.

We asked the Brawler what he was required to do as part of the creation process. The former WWE Superstar responded with a laugh. “Nothing. They want the figure to look exactly like I did 15 years ago, so I’m not much help to them now. They are gonna make it identical, right down to the beard and the ripped up clothes.” Brawler explained. “What they do is dig into the archives and pull out some old pictures. Then, they find a facial expression that they like, and mold the face of the action figure to look like the expression in the picture.”

Considering that the Brooklyn Brawler hasn’t been a regular part of the WWE roster in over a decade, WWE.com asked him if he ever thought this day would come. “I honestly never thought it would happen. In my era back in the 80s, it was all about guys like Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage.”

WWE.com asked the Brawler if getting an action figure has any significant meaning to him. “It’s a tremendous compliment and it does mean a lot to me. One day I will be dead, but I will live forever through these action figures. People will be collecting them and looking at them for years and years after I’m gone.”

The Brawler also suggested to WWE.com that this may not be the last time we hear from the popular 80s Superstar. “It seems in this business, the more time that passes, the more your legend grows. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if one day I get the call to go into the WWE Hall of Fame.”
