You can only pre-reg for this race, so no race day sign up. It was a hot day in the high 80's. All of the aid stations either ran out of cups or water for the slower runners "back of the pack people" (the ones that really need it) many people had to drink out of hoses in people yards or cross the street and get water from some of the convenience stores. Lots of DNFs on that day.

Now going back to my first comment, he knew the exact number of runners, so there was no surprise there. He spent more time and money dealing with the timing system (chip time), than on the basics (cups, water....).

That race (white rock half) is a big money raiser for CCCD and they had to take out a big ad in the paper to apogize to all of the runners. In the end Mr. Lewis blamed everyone else and not himself. Carefest also had a similar problem (not sure of the year), our club was there with a booth to help promote GRAW, we ended up sharing our water with the very thirty and tired runners. Once again, not enough supplies for all of the runners. There are many others who have told me about other bad races he was involved with. He spends much of his effort on the promotion and not on the race itself.
