The reason some club members dislike Mr. George is that after the 1st year poor race management at Carefest the club offered to help out the next year. The race was in Grapevine and we thought a little race day help would go a long way. Due to the fact that the wine festival people didn't want to sponsor the race the next year Mr. George announced he was moving the race and the new date would be the same as the HoundDog Hustle. When we ask him what the deal was, his response was "oh, well". After that there has been some reluctance to support Lewis George projects.

The only time I ran a Lewis George race was when he talked the CCCD people into letting him be the race director for the WhiteRock Half. He did such a poor job that the CCCD felt compelled to send all the runners a postcard of apology.

On the plus side he seems to be a great promoter. I don't know how he got that little blurb about his marathon in RunnersWorld. I was in the grocery store yesterday and heard an ad for his Dad'sDay race on the radio. He must be really good at lining up sponsors to be able to afford to pay groups $400 to work his aid stations.
