A/N: Yay!! I finally have a name for my new piece of literary work!! Also, I’m not sure where Jax lived before coming to the Oaks so I’m going to say that she lived in London.

She never expected this to happen. In all the time that she had planned what she was going to do during her break, she never planned on this happening. But it did. Sometime during the break, between the times spent bonding with her father to the time meeting with old friends; she never gave a thought to this actually happening.
What happened? She realized just how homesick she had been and decided once and for all that she would stay in London with her father.
It wasn’t that she hated the Oaks or was sickened at the thought of returning there. In fact, it was quite the opposite. She wouldn’t admit it to anyone but she loved the school and the people in it. Especially Beans. She wanted to go back there, but her want to be near her father greatly outweighed it. She was a daddy’s girl at heart and that would never change.
And it wasn’t that she wanted to get even with anyone by choosing not to return. She was not doing this to spite her mother. In all actuality, she had come to respect her mother a great deal. So, it was no one’s fault but her own when she phoned her mother to say that she was staying with her father.
That call was one that was never anticipated by anyone. Well, except for young Staggsy but that was only because he knew how strong homesickness could be at times and he knew what Jax was experiencing. But the others, particularly Beans, were shocked at the decision Jax had made. And everyone, with the exception of Beans, had accepted it because they knew no one would ever change Jax’s mind.

As days turned to months, Beans became lonelier. He was never able to find someone like Jax for a friend. It seemed that Jax’s type was in short supply. There were the moments he would curse Jax for coming to the Oaks in the first place and turning his world upside down, making his heart open for her. After those, there would be the moments where he would despise her through every fiber of his being for leaving him without so much as a good-bye. But some moments, few and far between, he would be happy for her because he knew that she was most likely happy. And those were his favorite moments.
Waking up was the hardest for Beans because he knew that he would have to awaken to the sight of the empty room that he built for her. Many mornings he would lie in his bed and just stare at the emptiness. Never did he think that he would miss the mess that would have surely been there had Jax been staying in the room. Nights were the easiest though. At night he could forget about everything and just sleep. And it was sleep he craved because he dreamt about her and it was the only time he would see her face.
It was six months to the day when they had said their good-byes and headed off in different directions. It was on this day that half term break was just a week away. It was on this day that Beans came running through the house, waving a letter and some pictures in his hand. It was on this day that he gathered the entire Darwin family together for a family meeting.
The first thing to come out of Beans’ mouth was, “Guys, she’s been gone for six months and she finally left her address. Cancel all your plans and pack your things because we’re going to London!”
