Subject: Voting in the second Nice referrendum

Today we get to vote on ratifying the Treaty of Nice, which would enlarge the E.U. and begin to reform the political institutions.

It's also the first time I've voted electronically, something about which I'm very suspicious this time around. You see we voted "No" already, but the government treasonously said that we didn't mean it and are making us vote again. If the vote is "No" again (and personally, I hope it is), and the government try something fishy, I think we'll literally be up in arms.

Will I be on the losing side? Probably. I took a "shortcut" through the back gate of the primary school that serves as a polling station and found the County Council had demolished the footbridge across the river! Thought I'd walk down the riverbank a ways but found a fence I couldn't climb over. So hot and bothered, my ten minute walk to the polling station turned into a 30 minute expedition.

I tend to think of such things as omens. But will the government be truthful about the results of the electronic votes.....?????
