The company who we purchased the domain name of “midlandscooters.com” (lycos) pulled the plug on domain names leaving us in limbo land. The domain name at Lycos was simply a service which re-routed all traffic accessing “midlandscooters.com” to a site where the website is hosted. In order to transfer the name of “midlandscooters.com” to another provider required an authorisation code from Lycos who had almost disappeared altogether and we would like to thank Ted Dale (former chair of midlandscooters.com) for all his help and assistance during this time in tracking down a contact at Lycos to obtain an authorisation code. Without an authorisation code, the name of midlandscooters.com would have been lost in cyber space. The company we transferred the name to, then had problems with their “transfer in” process, which resulted in an even longer delay. If you have accessed this message board by entering “midlandscooter.com”, this a temporary measure (whilst we are completing the process) to let everyone know ASAP what the problem was and that ALL planned ride-outs and the end of season do are still ON and that midlandscooters.com has NOT folded. Entering midlandscooters.com in a day or two will take you direct to the website. Next ride-outs November 8th Rememberance December 6th Toy Run these are the last two dates for the rideouts for 2009!! Finally, the ticket sales are going well for the midlandscooters.com end of season do on the 21st November at The Sound Bar (Corporation St, Birmingham) with half the tickets sold in the first two weeks!! There are roughly 150 left and they are on first come first served basis and we do not expect to have any available on the door on the night, so if you want to go, please purchase a ticket ASAP to avoid disappointment.
