Subject: Stratford - New Route for this year - Important - Please Read Author: Mark Baker (excited) [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: Fri, Jun 26 2009, 8:17:58 The route to Stratford via Sparkhill, Hall Green and Shirley will NOT be taken this year due to the number of complaints regarding the stretch from Birmingham to the M40 and consequently, many scooterists opt to meet en route to avoid this stretch of the rideout. Due to the above and the fact the pack always gets split before we arrive at Stratford, a new route will be taken. The new route will enable the WHOLE pack to ride through Stratford together avoiding traffic lights in Straford also. Apologies that it will use part of the route taken for Tewkesbury, but i'm sure you will agree it will be well worth it to avoid the congestion and the large number of traffic lights on the Stratford Road and for the pack to ride through Straford together which has NEVER been achieved before!!!!! The route to Stratford is therefore as follows; Leave McDonalds heading towards Maypole Island Wythall ByPass (A435) Beckets Farm (A435) At bottom of hill on A435 in Mappleborough Green (before Studley) Turn left onto A4189 and pull in at The Dog Inn to re-group Leave The Dog Inn and take the A4189 towards Henley. Before Henley, turn right down a side road (to avoid the lights in Henley and keep the pack together) Join the Stratford Road (A3400) near Wooton Wawen Ride up to the roundabout where A3400 meets the A46 We will then take residential roads to avoid traffic lights in Stratford and to enable the whole pack to ride through the old town together before arriving at the usual destination on the A3400 (Bridgeway) in Stratford.
