More common amongst some of the Kombai menfolk is the wearing of a penis covering, often their only garment, made from the beak of a hornbill. This is typically held in an erect or semi-erect position by a slender waist band and kept securely in position by a second smaller band at the base of the beak which is tied around the scrotum (this also has the effect making the testicles more prominent).

This not only covers the penis but also emphasises and draws attention to the penis in a form of phallic display.
