Collegians set to star for ProCity
- Phil Wong
Monday, August 2, 2004

The San Francisco ProCity Basketball League men's playoffs tip-off Monday at 8 p.m. at Kezar Pavilion the same way it completed its round-robin season.

Dream Team (4-3), the fifth-seed team, meets second-seed Bay Pride (6-1). Both teams closed out league play last week with Bay Pride winning 106-96.

Bay Pride features 6-foot-6 guard Anthony Lackey from Portland State who leads his team in shooting at 54 percent. Other collegians to watch include guards Brian Jones, a 2001 graduate of Santa Clara, and Ayinde Ubaka from Cal.

Jaha Wilson, a former high school sensation from Riordan High and USC, has been averaging 27 points per game for Dream Team and leads the league in rebounding. Fourth-seed East Bay (4-3), on a three-game win streak, features 6-2 guard Garry Hill-Thomas. Hill-Thomas was a key contributor to the University of Nevada-Reno's Sweet 16 run during this year's NCAA tournament. On Tuesday, East Bay will face the third-seeded Bay Raiders (5-2).
