Subject: Gordon zog sich eine Oberschenkelzerrung

with just nine weeks of practice before the Bundes League tilts begining Karlsruhe Iceline's Coach Uwe Sauerkann has his charges tuning up. Joining the Karlsruhe squad this year is Sauerkann favorite Jens-Uwe Gordon. Jens "pulled his thigh" in an early pre-season tourney in Gries/Oberhoffen but is "however ... already again in training". The Iceline 5 won the tourney convincingly over some French 2nd division and one surprisingly good 1st division team. It was "was however, on the whole a successful tournament, without large effort and with much fun at playing."

Jens played last year for the Artland Dragons. In his 27 games he averaged 8.8 pts and 4.6 rbs "shooting" 52.0% from the field and 79.2% (57-72) from the line in 20:22 min of playing time. He had 19 blocks and averaged 3.1 fouls per game.

at 37 the big guy from SCU keeps coming ... he is playing for his 12th team since leaving the Mission Campus ...

Brian Jones remains in Tübingen

Waiting has an end. The Koenigsmacher (Kingmaker) of the sports association 03 Tübingen from the past season remains a further year with the move up to the (1st division) Federal League (Bundesliega).

The Tuebinger public favourite by telephone confirmed his remaining on the night of Friday on Saturday with manager Harald prince and captain Robert Wintermantle. Thus our success guarantor, with which we lost only 3 games since January 2003, remains further in our fair city.

"BJ" accepted the "easily" improved offer that Swabians made and is enormously pleased about the new season with his new partner at the Guard positions Kevin Burleson.

----

The roles on the team are from the outset clearly distributed. "Brian Jones is our Leader", says Coach Pat Elzie, "with him and Kevin Burleson has we have one of the best Guard Duos of the League."

new acquisition Kevin Burleson from Heidelberg looks forward however to the work. "I would have never thought that I would be playing in Tübingen", said the 24-year-old, whose brother is by the way football professional at the NFL team Minnesota Vikings me so soon here is more "for it a large opportunity to show what I can do." also Brian Jones is hot for the season: "Every game is a large challenge for us", said the playmaker, whose return to Tübingen many had already written about. "I felt in the end that Tübingen is right for me, because I know the organization and the surrounding area well", said Jones, who had also offers from other European first division clubs.

During practices the "office" language is English as Pat Elzie during the daily Shoot-arounds in the Uhlandhalle (quite loudly by the way) demonstrated.

Walter TIGERS Tübingen : The Aufsteiger (ascender) from the south presented a new coach and in addition directly a new team name in Pat Elzie. The US American knows the federal league - he was already active with Hamburg TIGERS as coach. Robert Wintermantle remains on board. Also Andreas Worenz and Radivoj Tomasevic extended their contracts. In the team Kevin Burleston (last USC Heidelberg) and Andreas Hornig (Ex-U-20-National-teamer) are new. Kresimir Miksa remains thereby. From the TuS Lichtfeld Jimmy James comes. Brian Jones has its contract extended, again is Chukwuneike Obiorah Okosa. Further new acquisition is ex national player Tim Nees. Juefan violonist completes the cadre. The originally obligated 1st divisioner Erki Kivinukk becomes no tiger now nevertheless - an elbow injury puts him several months out of action, so that the contract was again dissolved.
