Subject: Broncos to CAP - ESPN2 HD's -- 1st programing day

BRISTON, Conn. - The much-anticipated Santa Clara vs. Gonzaga matchup will be one of three men's college basketball games scheduled for ESPN's planned debut of ESPN2 HD, on January 6, 2005 - it was announced today by Bryan Burns, ESPN vice president, strategic business planning and development.

The match ups include:

DePaul at Conference USA rival Cincinnati,
Memphis -- also from CUSA -- taking on Big 12 power Texas

and West Coast Conference champion
Gonzaga traveling to Santa Clara for an intra-conference showdown.


Again LATE but a nationally televised game (and I would imagine a lot of hype) for SCU and the Leavey Center ... and LOTs of new HDTV viewers with their new Holiday TV ... just itching for some Basketball action ...

we need a pep band rocking by then ....

two years ago the Cable Car Classic was broadcast on Mark Cuban's HDTV network ... and the Game and Leavey looked great ... almost like being courtside ...

that was supposed to be a two year deal but they did not pick up the second year ...

anyone want to guess the broadcast team for the Jan 6th game??
