Hey all,
with the nice dry (and sunny!) weather we've had this weekend a couple of different trips to Thorn Crag have resulted in some plum lines being sent.

On Saturday a certain Mr Chris M Fisher and Mr Andi Smith saw themselves at the the crag afeter the usual uphioll slog minus a bouldering mat!!! In fact (shock horror) they had trad gear and the intention to get on the routes....a productive session saw the headpointing of two bold E4's each (The Omega Man and Kissing The Pink??) effort lads!

Today (Sunday) saw me and Charlie up at the crag, minus a rack , but plus two big ass bouldering mats..the intention being Bad Moon Risins, a classic V8+. After a previous brief session, the sequence was known and after doing all the moves, linking the problem was in sight. Charlie sent the line in an impressive display of determination and strength..climbing his first problem of that grade. Unfortunately, after managing to latch the hold after the crux sequence i somehow managed to muck up the rest, after which i wasn't able to do the crux again..so close, but no cigar!

Hopefully with this spell of weather looking to continue into the week more people will manage to get up there and push themselves!

Jake

A few of us headed back up to Thorn today to finish of business started at the weekend...
First of all I managed to get meself up Bad Moon Rising without cocking up this time!!
Later Me and Chris were joined by Andi and Todd. A top rope was put down 'The Last Temptation' E6 6c, which Andi had worked at the weekend and after a few brief goes Andi was tying onto the sharp end. Due to the extremely strenuous nature of the route Andi (wisely) chose to preplace three bits of gear...the security of these was duly tested! Once first headpoint nerves were out of the way Andi climbed the route in impressive style...tres bon effort!!!
If this weather continues who knows what will happen...

Good effort, nice to see such a fine route getting some well deserved attention . Get yourselves on Doctor Shipmans Surgery Surgery it's awesome, not quite as technically hard as The Last Temptation but you need a longer neck, if you catch my drift.
